Good morning, to all the teachers and all my dear friends. Today we all gathered here to celebrate National Education Day. So here I would like to say something about this day.
National Education Day of India is celebrated on 11 November every year. National Education Day is an annual observance in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, he was the first education minister of independent India, who served from 15 August 1947 until 2 February 1958.He emphasis on education for every section including girl education. In his tenure, he implemented education as compulsory and free up to the age of 14 years. His vision to strengthen the education system by proving quality education is always remembered. We all are lucky to enjoy the perks of getting an education because if we look our past, there were lots of struggle to get the right to education.
Initially, education was limited to few classes of society. Women are not allowed to get education. Lot of myths regarding education was circulating in society. My dear friends, I would like to ask you to think of education as a healthy food which nourishes us and makes us strong. When we are strong, then we are happy and at peace with the world. Education empowers us to think about the social issues happening in the country, we should seek to remove bad habits, poverty, inequality, gender discrimination, and other anti-social issues from our lifestyle in order to be a positive and valued member of society. It enhanced our way of thinking. Moreover, we became more practical in life. At present, the Government also work upon to give quality education to various levels. National education policy has been implemented to improve quality education and nowadays the age for getting an education is reduced. Now there is a provision of compulsory education from 3 years to 6 years because the development of the brain is maximum in this time period of life.
So, at last, I would like to conclude that, Draw inspiration from people around us who lead by example and who provide us with good quality education, who encourage us to learn what we need to know to go forward with our lives and become a responsible citizen of the country.
Thank you so much!
