Speech on International Women’s Day (8th March) for Students and Kids

Good morning one and all present here, Respected Principal ma’am teachers and all my dear friends, today we all gathered here to celebrate Women’s day and  I am here to deliver a speech on the topic of INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY.

Firstly I would like to congratulate each and every person that we got the privilege to celebrate women’s day. International Women’s day is celebrated on the 8th March every year. It is celebrated when women gain suffrage in Soviet Russia in 1917. This day declared as holiday and later on feminist movement lead it to officially adopted in 1967.

As we know, women play a crucial role in our life. A mother gave us birth, a daughter who became proud of the family and a wife who is caretaker of our family. We cannot think of our life without them. In the present era, women cannot limit herself within the household work. She is exploring in each and every field with flying colors. She participated in social-economic activities and proves her landmark over there. For example, Nirmala Sitharaman is the first full-time female finance minister and recently presented the 2019-20 budget in parliament and Kiran Bedi was the first IPS officer. Moreover, this time we cannot grant in heritage, there were lots of sacrifices occurred. Raja Ram Mohan Roy stands for the rights of women, Mother Teresa was one of the leading example of a nation, Rani Laxmi bai, Sarojini Naidu all these personalities symbolizes the importance of women contribution in the world.

In spite of that, they still face a lot of problems regarding their equality in society. For example, women generally get low wages for their work in comparison to men. She faces molestation at work-place, she should not pay for her work at home. History showcase the worst scenario, when people thought educating females, would lead to the death of a husband and it is out of the rules and regulation. So we are very much thankful to all the people who fought for the rights of women. Today we can see examples like Kalpana Chawla, Marrykom, Malala Yousaf Zai who proves that women are nowhere less than men and able to breakdown all myths. At last, I would like to say that give opportunities to women she can switch the world into a beautiful era.

Thank you!
