India vs New Zealand Semi Final 10th July 2019 Weather, Pitch Report, Match Equation in DLS

So here the Reserve Day comes. New Zealand were 211/5 in 46.1 overs with Ross Taylor batting at 67 and Tom Latham batting at 3. Umpires and Match Referee tried their best to finish the game on the same day rain wins the race at last.

Indian Bowling Dominate on the First Day of Semi Final b/w India and New Zealand. Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar didn’t allow any batsman to hit boundries around the park. In the first 10 over New Zealand were 27/1 from where they never accelerates. Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholls all the batsman played too slowly. Yes, the pitch is having bounce, the bowl was spinning, there were seaming conditions but still you have to get atleast 270+ score against a solid batting line up.

Game will resume on the Reserve Day – Though the game didn’t completed on the first day, it will resume from where it ended on 10th of July 2019.

Benefit of Rain – Undoubtedly, New Zealand is having a slight benefit of rain. There two reasons for this –

  1. If DLS comes into the equation, then it will give extra comfort to New Zealand. See how, if New Zealand doesn’t bat on the reserve day and only India will bat if somehow rains persist for some more time. Then the equation for India to chase the target will be – 237 in 46 overs, 223 in 40 overs, 209 in 35 overs, 192 in 30 overs, 172 in 25 overs, 148 in 20 overs.
  2. As the game goes to the reserve day and the first inning has finished so far. There will be no rollers on the pitch. And the pitch will become slow and the low temperature will help the seamers a bit more. So, if somehow New Zealand managed to get past 250. It will be tougher for team India to chase down the target.

Weather Report – Weather Report is saying that there are chances of rain in the first three hours of the match but the dark clouds will allow the Cricket to be played for 4-5 hours in the afternoon.

Pitch Report – Pitch is covered and the temperature there is around 12-14 Degree Celsius. So, there will be a lateral movement for the bowlers, seaming conditions with bounce. Moreover, as the temperature will increase the cracks will appear and the ball will grip more. So any chase according to the DLS or if there will be a full match a target of 250+ will be a respected total.

Match Prediction – Tough Game, but India is having a better chance. Depends on the first spell of Trent Boult.
